Funeral services for Bruce Scott, 72, of Toccoa, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Ansley officiating. Burial followed in Chopped Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Scott died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at his residence.

Born July 29, 1940, in Habersham County, where he lived all his life, he was a son of the late Ben James and Myrtle Littleton Scott. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Walker, and a brother, Hoyt Scott.

Mr. Scott was a retired truck driver in the logging industry. He loved farming and nature, and enjoyed dirt track racing and building race cars. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sue Cheek Scott; daughter, Cecilia Collins of Mt. Airy; grandson, Adam Lovell of Mt. Airy; sister-in-law, Jewell Scott of Toccoa; brother-in-law, Harold Walker of Toccoa; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, was in charge of arrangements.
