Funeral services for Dorothy ‘Dot’ Welborn Kinney, 85, of the Hollywood Community, Clarkesville, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at Hollywood Baptist Church with Pastor Don Samples and Pastor Scott Westmoreland officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Kinney died Friday, April 5, 2013, at her residence following a brief illness.

Born March 27, 1928, in Rabun County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Clemson and Icie Giles Welborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Cecil Kinney; nine brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Kinney was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and was retired from Piedmont Automotive as an inspector. She enjoyed canning, flower gardening and camping in her spare time. She was also an avid rook player and was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Frank M. Kinney of Hollywood Community, Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Phil Ivester of Hollywood Community, Clarkesville; Pam and Jerry Brooks of Lakemont; sons, Morris Kinney of Turnerville, Benny Kinney of Hollywood Community, Clarkesville; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Ruth Welborn of Eastanollee; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
