Funeral service for Edna Matheson Coley, 87, of Alto, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, March 20, in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Coley went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013.

Born April 28, 1925, in Alto, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Vera Shirley Matheson. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Corbin “Cobb” Coley; son, Charles Everett Coley; and sisters, Sylvia Wright and Mary Frances Matheson.

Mrs. Coley was a member of Calvary’s Cross Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-laws, Beverly and Ray Holcomb of Baldwin, Gwen and Clyde Ivester of Alto; son, Melvin Coley of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Reggie and Alicia Coley of Clarkesville, one sister, Ruth Cook of Alto; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
