Mrs. Norton died Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Habersham Medical Center.
Born Jan. 5, 1934, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late Odus and Fannie Tomlin Mote. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Mote; sister, Willene Nix; and brothers-in-law, Irce Williams and J.B. Nix.
Mrs. Norton was a member of Community Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed canning, flower gardening and traveling in her spare time.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Norton of Mt. Airy; daughter, Glenda Norton of Mt. Airy; son, Tommy Norton of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Kay Norton of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, General and Mollie Mote of Baldwin and Avery and Virginia Mote of Alto; sister, Adeline Williams of Colorado; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
