Mrs. Enright died at her residence on Thursday, March 14, 2013, following a period of declining health.
Born March 15, 1925, in Peoria, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Georgianna Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a twin sibling, William Martin, who was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II; and by a sister, Mary Elle Crane.
She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Macalaster College. Mrs. Enright was a homemaker and she returned to teaching when all of her children were in school. She taught remedial reading at Knowllwood School in the DeKalb County School System and in her spare time, Mrs. Enright was an active volunteer with many organizations. Mrs. Enright was an avid reader and accomplished artist in oils and water colors. She also was a gifted seamstress and a great cook. Mrs. Enright had many rewarding and respected accomplishments; the greatest being a devoted and loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Enright of Sautee; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Alan Jones of West Point, Martha and Charles Sheperd of Tucker, and Mary and Tom Rudolph of Hoschton; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Pat Enright of Portland, Ore., John Enright and Dr. Karen Carter of Augusta, and Michael and Amy Enright of Dahlonega; as well as 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
