Funeral services for William Charles Hembree, 76, of Cornelia, will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 25, at New Bridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Robinson, the Rev. Darren Cain and the Rev. W.A. Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hembree died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Oct. 23, 1937, in Banks County, he was a son of the late Walter Hembree and Lommie Cain Hembree. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sister, Mary Elizabeth Hulsey.

Mr. Hembree was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church and was a retired parts manager with James Short Ford. He had previously owned and operated Hembree Trucking. He was a master mechanic who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Winnie Grace Stephens Hembree of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Tina Hembree of Hiawassee; grandson, Dylan Hembree of Hiawassee; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Dot Hembree of Greenwood, S.C.; brother-in-law, Jason Hulsey of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
