Mrs. McClain died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Willow Gardens.
Born Jan. 8, 1919, in Stephens County, she was a daughter of the late Madison Berry and Genie Dooley Collier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gladstone McClain; a grandchild, Amber McClain; siblings, Fred, Dewey, Henry, Chandler, Kytle and Bernice Collier, Eva Stonecypher, Daisy Ligon, Gertrude Turpin and Lorene Russell.
Mrs. McClain was a longtime member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a former employee of Belk of Toccoa.
Family members include her children and their spouses, Dorothy and Ron Trotman, Paul H. and Sarah McClain, Bob and Sharon McClain, Phil and Evelyn McClain, Kenneth R. and Teresa McClain, and Grace M. and Sam Duvall; grandchildren, Ronny and Katie Trotman, Jeff and Mary Trotman, Elizabeth McClain, Amanda and Bobby Brunson, Paula and Steven Roach, Allison McClain, Melanie and Marty Lee, Cheryl and Todd Burke, Trina and Scott Henry, Leigh and Dustin Thomas, Heather and Chris McCraw, Chris and Jennifer Smith, Nick and Mayra Smith, Matthew Duvall and Jennifer and Alex King; great-grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Emily and Nate Trotman, Charlie, Will and David Trotman, Robert, Sarah and Charles Brunson, Lydia Roach, Tyler McClain, Shea and Caitlin Woodard, Kristen, Brandon, Jason, Ethan and Katherine Burke, Amber, Erin and Michael Henry, Jackson and Marley McCraw, Taylor Smith and Isaac Smith; a great-great-grandchild, Jenna Lee Bishop; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
