Funeral services for Beverly Crow Chambers, 80, of Cornelia, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with Bobby Chambers officiating. Burial followed in Level Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Curt Frederick.

Mrs. Chambers died Saturday, April 7, 2012.

Born Feb. 14, 1932, in Cornelia, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Esta Wood Crow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Chambers, and her sister, Peggy Short.

Mrs. Chambers was a college graduate with a bachelor of arts degree from Piedmont College. She was an employee of Su’ Ci’s for 20 years. Before she retired she worked at Applegate and The Gift Garden. Mrs. Chambers was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia and a former leader in Sunbeams, G.A.s and BTU. She was also a former Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Caren and Ted Ayers of Demorest; sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Julie Chambers of Mt. Airy and Bob and Jenny Chambers of Atlanta; sister, Barbara Huff of Cornelia; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jay Ebers, Jason Ayers, Joe and Leah Ayers, Carson and Amy Chambers, Emily, Benton, Rebecca and Clayton Chambers; and eight great-grandchildren.
