Funeral services for Bill Dailey, 86, of Baldwin, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Free and Dr. Kenneth Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by Grant Reeves VFW Post No. 7720, Rabun County DAV Chapter No. 15, Habersham County American Legion Post No. 84, and the Georgia National Guard.

Mr. Dailey died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014, at his residence.

Born Jan. 18, 1928, in Hayesville, N.C., he was a son of the late Mitch and Carrie Garrison Dailey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Francine Lewallen Dailey; sisters, Hazel Dailey and Sally Shelton; and brothers, Henry Dailey and Horace Dailey.

Mr. Dailey was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing as a textile engineer and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, time with family, gardening and eating out.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sara Dailey of Cornelia; special friend, Jo Nell Barrett of Demorest; sisters, Betty White of Cornelia and Janella Patton of Hayesville, N.C.; brothers, Jack Dailey of Hayesville and Lee Dailey of Hiawassee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Aug. 22.
