Funeral services for Bobbie Sue Brock, 80, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Maness officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin.

Mrs. Brock died Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

Born April 19, 1933, in Banks County, she was a daughter of the late Ben David and Lizzie Carlan Nunnally. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Ezra B. Brock Sr.; son, David Roger Brock; brother, Thomas Nunnally; and sister, Mary Dills.

Mrs. Brock was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Baldwin. She worked as a seamstress with Blue Bell Manufacturing in Homer for many years, and then later retired from Mt. Vernon Mills with 20 years of service. She loved working with pottery, and at age 70 began taking lessons from Dirt Bag Pottery. She was known as “The Butterfly Lady” and signed her pottery with a trademark butterfly.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane Higgins of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Jane and Neal Ferguson of Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, George and Karen Brock of Lula; sons, Ezra Berry Brock Jr. of Homer and Condus Brock of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, R.T. and Betty Jean Nunnally of Douglas, and Roy and Pat Nunnally of Colbert; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today, March 14, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John B. Gesbocker Animal Shelter, 555 Monroe St., Unit 20, Clarkesville, GA 30523; or to the charity of one’s choice.
