Mrs. Nichols died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013.
Born April 18, 1914, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Christopher Manley and Vicie Burton Jones. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim West Nichols; son, Jimmy Nichols; four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Nichols spent most of her life in Habersham County until 1982, when she relocated to Suwannee. She was retired from Habersham Mills, where she was employed for many years, and was of the Baptist faith. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice Nichols Stewart of Suwannee; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle Nichols and Carroll Phillips of Lake Placid, Fla.; brother, Hoyt Jones of Clarkesville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Jan. 23, from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.
