Funeral services for Elsie Terry Sutton, 83, of Alto, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Jan. 20, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Tim Beasley and Caleb Martin officiating. Burial will follow in B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Sutton died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, following a sudden illness at the residence.

Born July 6, 1928, in Alto, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Henrietta Pettit Blackburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Terry; second husband, Bill Sutton; and sisters, Daisy Blackburn, Pauline Ferguson and Hazel Pritchett.

Mrs. Sutton was of the Baptist faith and regularly attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church. She was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Chris Martin of Gainesville; brothers, Ray Blackburn of Alto, and Fay Blackburn of Cornelia; two grandchildren and spouses, Erin and Colin Sattler and Caleb and Katie Martin; and one great-grandchild, Micah Sattler.
