Funeral services for Frances O’Neal McElroy, 92, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at First Baptist Church of Cornelia with Dr. Eric Spivey and the Rev. David Turner officiating. Burial is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.

Mrs. McElroy died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012.

Born June 12, 1919, in Riverdale, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Winfred and Anna Mae Kilgo O’Neal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. McElroy; sisters, Jewel Mae Nation, Opal Lee Strickland, Margaret Sapp; brothers, Jesse Denton O’Neal, Thomas Winfred O’Neal and James Harold O’Neal.

Mrs. McElroy was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia, the Volunteer-3L Sunday School Class and Helping Hands. Before moving to Cornelia she was a long-time member of Sylvan Hills Baptist Church in Atlanta. She was a retired employee of Cluett Peabody Company with 30 years of service. Mrs. McElroy was a member of the Arrow 25-year Club.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Rudy Curley of Demorest, and Jerrie and Bob Beveridge of Austell; son and daughter-in-law, Neal and Johni McElroy of Batesville; seven grandchildren and spouses, Dixie and Bob Sands, Scott and Kelli Williams, Stephanie and James Haraway, Nicole Kelly, Beau and Renee Jones, Kira Jones, Terrell Puckett; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was the last of her immediate family.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today, March 2, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin.
