Funeral services for Harold Dennis Sims, 59, of Demorest will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 25, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Stacy Miller and the Rev. Michael Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sims died April 22, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born Oct. 5, 1952, in Habersham County, he was the son of Evelyn Dixon Sims and the late Harold Venson Sims. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Sims.

Mr. Sims was a self-employed car dealer and he had a great love for animals.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha Turpin Sims of Demorest; mother, Evelyn Dixon Sims of Gainesville; special nephew, Nicholas Dixon of Clarkesville; brothers, Tony Sims of Gainesville and Ronnie Sims of Homer; sister, Vicki Sims Skorput of Gainesville; special great-niece, Skylar Rose Dixon; and his beloved pets.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to: John B. Gesbocker Animal Shelter, 555 Monroe St., Unit 20, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
