Memorial services for Jackson Palmour, 64, of Benicia, Calif., are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, April 4, at First Baptist Church of Benicia, with Pastor Scott Henning officiating.

Mr. Palmour died suddenly March 25, 2014, in a local hospital three days shy of his 65th birthday.

Born March 28, 1949, in Gainesville, he was the son of the late William Jarrard Palmour and Minnie Jackson Palmour. He also was preceded in death by his son, Randy Palmour, in 2001.

Jackson attended Baldwin Elementary School and graduated from South Habersham High School. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and was an avid reader, chess player, golfer, tennis player and fan of the Oakland A’s and his beloved Georgia Bulldogs.

He was a financial advisor for more than 30 years, most recently with Edward Jones in Walnut Creek, Calif. He had lived in Benicia, Calif., since 1982.

Jackson is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Sean and Dylan; his mother-in-law, Ruby Lorraine Summers; numerous cousins, including Phyllis Westphall Bonner and her children, Amy Patrice Bonner Bales and Frederick Denney Bonner Jr.; and best friends from school, J.R. Williams and Len Dalton.

Memorials may be made to Benicia Little League.
