Mr. Gilstrap died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Habersham Home West, Demorest.
A son of the late John Wiley and Sibbie Ellenburg Gilstrap, he was born April 10, 1937, in Hall County, having lived most of his life in Toccoa. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Standridge Gilstrap.
He was retired from Stephens County Hospital and played bluegrass guitar for 25 years.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Johnette and Ron Welborn of Clarkesville, and Teresa Gilstrap of Milton, Fla.; five grandchildren; three sisters, Caroline Chappel of Clarkesville, Louise Whitlock of Warner Robins, and Maggie Wall of Suches; and a number of nieces and nephews.
