Private memorial services for Kevin Glenn Heumaneus, 45, of Cornelia, will be held. His wishes were to be cremated.

Mr. Heumaneus died March 12, 2012.

Born June 23, 1966,in Louisville, Ky., he was the son of the late Louie and Barbara Heumaneus of Cornelia. He also was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett and Sarah Creasman.

Kevin was a loving and devoted father, son, brother, uncle and a great friend. His daughter, Zoe, was the light of his life from the day she was born. He treasured the nightly bedtime storybooks, playing in the park, flying kites, teaching her to ride a bike, catching lightning bugs and the many conversations about science, space and any other subjects to nurture her inquisitive nature.

Kevin was a graduate of Georgia State University, where he also earned a master’s degree. He was a business development consultant with Hewlett-Packard for many years. His many interests included the study of science, genealogy and traveling with his family. Kevin had a zest for life and a deep love of family.

Survivors include his daughter, Zoe Heumaneus; brother and sister-in-law, Louie and Pam Heumaneus of Cornelia; brothers, Kenneth Heumaneus of Cornelia, James Heumaneus of Baldwin; sister, Carol Allen of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Larry Ramey of Pelzer, S.C., Rosita and Clifford Galloway of Alto; beloved aunt, Lucille Williams of Demorest; many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Metro Embalming & Crematory Inc., Conyers, is in charge of arrangements.
