Funeral services for Martha Sarah Harris Ferguson, 82, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, July 3, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Milton Harris and the Rev. Lisa Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating.

Mrs. Ferguson died Saturday, June 29, 2013, following an extended illness.

Born May 25, 1931, in Clarkesville, she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Bertha Senkbeil Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Amos Ferguson Sr., and a brother, George Harris.

Mrs. Ferguson had a dual membership with First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville, and Level Grove Baptist Church, Cornelia. Before retirement she had been employed with Carwood Manufacturing and Riegel Textiles.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Randy Strickland of Cornelia; son, William A. Ferguson Jr. of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas R. and Jeannette Ferguson of Clermont; sisters, Susanna York of Clermont and Elizabeth and Bevis Simmons of Winder; brother, Robert and Lisa Harris of Liberty Hill, Texas; five grandchildren and spouses, Trista and Brad Grizzle, Joey Ferguson, Pamela and Kurt Gosnell, Chase Strickland and Tanner Strickland; and two great-grandchildren, Makenzie Gosnell and Levi Gosnell.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour today, July 3, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest.
