Funeral services for Nezzie Free Strange, 81, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Austin Kelley and the Rev. J.R. Elrod officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lloyd Free officiating. 

Mrs. Strange went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at Limestone Heritage, Gainesville, following an extended illness.

Born Jan. 2, 1930, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Vadie Woodall Free. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sons, Kent and Keith Strange; brothers, Everett, Earl and Dewey Lee Free; and a sister, Eunice Hulsey.

Mrs. Strange was a member of Good News Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Clay Strange of Cornelia; sons, Michael and Jerry Strange, both of Cornelia; sister, Hazel Crain of Gainesville; brother, the Rev. Lloyd Free of Cornelia; and her adopted family, John, June, April and Laura Dyer, all of Demorest.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., today, Nov. 11, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin.
