Funeral services for Paul Swain Murphy, 67, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, Feb. 28, at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, with the Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cornelia.

Mr. Murphy died Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at his home.

Swain was a native and lifelong resident of Habersham County. He owned and operated S&R Salvage for a number of years and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cornelia.

Swain was the son of the late Grover William Murphy and Susie Garrison Murphy and was also preceded in death by his wife, Retha Swain; and daughter, Kirstie Dills.

He is survived by children, Charlotte Jones of Clermont, Michelle Hamilton of Dahlonega, Jessica Dills of Dahlonega, and Paula Murphy of Cornelia; brothers, Grover Murphy of Alto, and Vernon Murphy of, Cornelia; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Clinton Savage of Cornelia, and Faye Loudermilk of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Cody Hamilton, Cynthia Raez, Amber Jones, Dustin Jones, Brianna Justice, Tristan Myers, Hannah Justice, Bentley Batson and Mason Myers. A number of other relatives also survive.

The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. today, Feb. 28.
