Memorial services for Raymond Allen Russell, 91, of Cleveland, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the Alexander Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Richard Huycke officiating.

Mr. Russell died Saturday, March 3, 2012.

Born Sept. 27, 1920, in Greenville, Mich., he was the son of the late Gilbert and Gaila Russell. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Kaeding Russell; brother, Richard Russell; and sister, Norma Laidlaw.

He graduated from Greenville High School and served in the U.S Army infantry during World War II. He moved to White County in 1978 from Miami, Fla. Mr. Russell was a member of the White County Lions Club as well as a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and David Pierce of Canton, Becky and Roy Bruner of Demorest, and Patricia and Marquis Arender of Demorest; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to United Hospice, 700 S. Enota Drive NE #202, Gainesville, GA 30501.
