Funeral services for Winnie Glennon McCrackin, 88, of Mt. Airy, were conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Michael Justus and the Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Burial followed in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. McCrackin died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at her residence.

Born Jan. 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late George and Gladys Mahre Glennon. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. McCrackin; and daughter, Jean Ward. She was the last of her immediate family.

Mrs. McCrackin was a member of Glade Creek Baptist Church. She had served as past WMU director of her church. Mrs. McCrackin was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Grant Reeves VFW Post 7720. She was the owner and operator of Winnie’s Beauty Shop with more than 60 years of service.

Survivors include her son-in-law, David L. Ward of Mt. Airy; grandsons and daughters-in-law, Chet and Amanda Ward of Meansville, Matt and Debbie Ward of Mt. Airy; great-grandchildren, Andrew Ward, Joshua Ward, Elizabeth Ward, Caleb Ward, Luke Ward, Katelyn Ward, Thomas Ward and Anna Ward.

Memorials may be made to Glade Creek Baptist Church, 884 Toccoa Hwy., Mt. Airy, GA 30563.
