Funeral services for Jean W. Lee, 62, of Clarkesville were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Brion Williams officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Lee died Jan. 11, 2012, following an extended illness.

Born Oct. 12, 1949, in Franklin, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William Marshall and Mary Lee Carpenter. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Williams of 33 years; husband, Frank Lee, of five years; and one sister, Virginia Lee Carpenter.

She graduated from Franklin High School in May of 1967. Her marriage to Billy Joe Williams started in November of 1967, and ended in his death in February 2001. After getting her two boys to school age, Jean went to work at the Co-Op Craft Store, where she worked for 28 years. Jean loved to help and work with other people and this job allowed her to do just that. She loved to sew and make various crafts. Jean loved people in general, she enjoyed listening to music; especially gospel music. She loved to be with her family and many friends.

Survivors include sons, Keith Marshall Williams and wife Christy of Clarkesville, Terry Joe Williams and wife Margaret of Clarkesville; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; sisters, Carol Conley and husband Fred, Penny Simpkins and husband Bobby; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Condolences may be sent at Arrangements by Hillside Memorial Chapel, Clarkesville.
