Funeral services for Huel Arthur Sanders, 86, of Clarkesville were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, at Hillside Memorial Chapel, Clarkesville, with the Rev. Tony Kemp officiating. Burial followed the service in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery.

Mr. Sanders died Feb. 18, 2012.

Born Oct. 1, 1925, in Franklin, N.C., he was the son of the late Marion Bryant and Virginia Conley Sanders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Dianne Sanders; sister, Kate Nader; and brothers, Marion Sanders Jr. and Willard Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was retired from Johnson and Johnson with 43 years of dedicated service. Mr. Sanders served his country in the United States Army and he was also a school bus driver. Mr. Sanders was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Ivester Sanders of Clarkesville; daughter, Wanda Perry of Clarkesville; granddaughter, Amber Perry Dorsey and her husband Michael of Cleveland; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Michael and Garrett Huel Dorsey, also of Cleveland; sister, Shirley Spivey and her husband Harvey of Atlanta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
