Memorial Services for Ronald Roy Harding, 83, of Clarkesville, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Clarkesville, with the Rev. Tommy Stowe and Dr. Bill Cashion officiating.

Mr. Harding died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, following a brief illness.

Born July 26, 1928, in Minneapolis, Minn., he was the son of the late Donald and Mabel Harding. He also was preceded in death by one sister, Alberta Kreiber.

Mr. Harding was a mechanical engineer. Mr. Harding moved to Atlanta to start a machinery installation business in 1976. He retired from Harding Erectors in 1991. Mr. Harding was a member of the Minnesota National Guard and the Georgia National Guard. Mr. Harding was a pilot for the Minnesota National Guard with multiple fixed-wing ratings. He retired as a chief warrant officer (W4). Mr. Harding served during the Korean Conflict. His military service spanned 35 years, including active duty.

Mr. Harding was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America for 15 years, the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 20 years and he also did volunteer work with the American Red Cross for five years.

Mr. Harding was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and served on various committees and the Singing Saints.

Mr. Harding is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lola C. Harding of Clarkesville; daughter, Sandra Harding Logan of Clarkesville; sons, Daniel Roy Harding (Wendy) of Ilion, N.Y., James Scott Harding (Ana) Minneapolis, Minn., and Tague Ronald Harding (Lisa) of Lakeville, Minn. Mr. Harding also has 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Hillside Funeral Home, Clarkesville, is in charge of arrangements.
