Memorial services for Janell H. “Townsend” Cook, 84, of Clarkesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Hollywood Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Dingus officiating.

Mrs. Cook died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Habersham Medical Center.

Born June 10, 1927, in Dacula, she was a daughter of the late Raleigh and Mattie Mahaffey Hill. She was also preceded in death by her son, Eddie Townsend, and seven siblings. Mrs. Cook was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Cook was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and owned and operated a beauty salon. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Willard W. Cook of Clarkesville; daughter, Wanda Wehunt of Lawrenceville; daughter and son-in-law, Amelia and Victor Morris of Charlotte, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hollywood Baptist Church, 208 Hollywood Church Road, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
