James Broner ‘Hollywood’ Whitfield Jr.

Funeral services for James Broner “Hollywood” Whitfield Jr., 46, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today, Aug. 24, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with Stan Crump and Torie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Whitfield died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, following an extended illness.

Born July 6, 1966, in Greenville, S.C., he was the son of Ruby J. Whitfield of Clarkesville, and the late James Broner Whitfield Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother-in-law, Grace Clark.

Mr. Whitfield was in the United States Navy. He was employed with the Tony Cook Trucking Company until he was diagnosed with cancer. Mr. Whitfield attended Foothills Community Church in Toccoa.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Robin G. Whitfield of Clarkesville; daughter, Ashleigh “Nikki” Whitfield and her fiancé Andy Sheriff, of Eastanollee; sons, Jamie Taylor Whitfield of Toccoa, and Robert Williams of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Bill Johnson of Lebanon, Tenn., and Patricia and Bennie Seigler of Turnerville; mother-in-law, Lois Holden of Mt. Airy; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Samantha and William Crawford of Demorest, and René and Jack Jennings of Easley, S.C.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Darrell and Jessica Holden of Cleveland, and Keith and Robin Holden of Travelers Rest, S.C.; grandson, Hayden Sheriff; special niece, Torie Crawford, special goddaughter, Sarah Shelton; and various other nieces and nephews.
