Funeral services for Janice Gail Newell Mann, 67, of Mt. Airy, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Clarkesville Church of God with the Rev. Tim Tanner, the Rev. Kendall Mann and the Rev. Donald Newell officiating. Burial followed in Grant Reeves VFW Cemetery.

Mrs. Mann died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.

Born June 22, 1945, in Charlotte, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Willie and Lora Delk Newell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mann; brother, Coy Newell; sisters, Edith Hasty and Joan Croxton; and great-granddaughter, Kaydence Elizabeth Michelle Holler.

Mrs. Mann was a retired lab technician at Stephens County Hospital and a member of Clarkesville Church of God. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, sewing and cooking.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Kendall and Susan Mann of Clarkesville; daughter, Teresa Nesbitt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Ginger Newell of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the Rev. Donald and Gail Newell of Huntersville, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Charles Mann of Kannapolis, N.C.; grandchildren, Krystal Ashe, Brandon Thompson, Brittany Nichols, Lauren, Jacob and Lydia Mann; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Connor Ashe, Dexter Thompson, Kyleigh and Julian Nichols.
