Funeral services for Ada Franklin Palmer, 88, of Clarkesville, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today, Oct. 10, at Habersham Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Thomas and the Rev. Jerry Buschmann officiating. Burial will follow in Habersham Cemetery.

Mrs. Palmer died Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at her residence following a period of declining health.

A life-long native of Habersham County, she was born April 14, 1924, a daughter of the late John and Hattie Adams Franklin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George A. “G.A.” Palmer; sisters, Reba Jordan, Irene Allen; brothers, Clyde Franklin, Earl Franklin, J.C. Franklin and Arlen Franklin.

She was retired after years of service with Piedmont Automotive. Mrs. Palmer was a member of Habersham Baptist Church, where she was participated in the Older Ladies Sunday School Class, WMU, Young At Hearts Group, and served for many years on the church food service committee.

Survivors include her children, Gail and Nelson Crowe of Clarkesville, Shirley and Mike Roberts of Mt. Airy, Kathy and Phil Harris of Baldwin, Phyllis and Tim Carter of Commerce; and she was Grandma to 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
