Funeral services for S.T. Goss Sr., 84, of Clarkesville, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Connie Berry and the Rev. Paris Whitworth officiating. Burial followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Goss died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at a private care facility in Hiawassee.

Born Feb. 28, 1928, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Burns and Lila Bell Goss. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Collins Goss; son, S.T. Goss Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Goss; and brothers, T.B. Goss and C.T. Goss.

S.T. was a retired farmer and a member of Stonepile Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he enjoyed his fox and coon hunting and had many hunting buddies.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Larry Mize of Clarkesville; daughter-in-law, Violet Goss of Clarkesville; son, Charles Goss of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Becky Goss of Clarkesville; brother, J.T. Goss of Clarkesville; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
