A Celebration of Life service for Amy Elizabeth Reeves Hall, 93, of Demorest, was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Rice, the Rev. Mike Wilson and the Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hall went to her Heavenly Home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, Nov. 16, 2012, at her residence.

Born Dec. 4, 1918, in Franklin, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Thomas T. and Ida Bell Love Reeves. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Winston Wilbanks; daughter-in-law, Wilma Hall; granddaughter, Becky Woods; several brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Hall was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a school cook with the WPA program. Granny Hall, as she was affectionately known, with her passion for caregiving, left a legacy encouraging her children and grandchildren to always take care of others, and to fully rely on God in every decision made in life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, and was well known for homemade biscuits and cakes.

Survivors include her daughter, Catherine Hall Wilbanks of Mt. Airy; son, James Robert Hall of Gastonia, N.C.; grandchildren, Tim Hall, Robert Hall, Jeanna Hall Smith, Rose Marie Melton, Rhonda Wilbanks, Robin Wilbanks, Cindy Mixon, Tammy Wilbanks; 17 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hall’s children would like to extend a special thanks to all of Mrs. Hall’s caregivers, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and Dr. Manzoor and staff at Longstreet Clinic Internal Medicine.
