Mr. Autry died Monday, Dec, 3, 2012, at Habersham Medical Center.
Born July 2, 1922, in Alto, he was the son of the late Robert Newton and Curley Beaty Autry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Harley Autry, and his sister, Ruby Autry Glover.
Mr. Autry was a United States Navy veteran, having proudly served his country during World War II. He was a retired truck driver with Fieldale Farms with 17 years of service. Grady collected and made Indian artifacts. He also collected coins and old telephone and electric power pole insulators.
Mr. Autry attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church, where he taught the Adult Sunday School Class for 40 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Coley Autry of Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Jerry Blackburn of Carlton, and Jeanie and Mike Sims of Cleveland; son, Jerry Lee Autry of Alto; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
