Doris ‘Majell’ Durham Hallford

Funeral services for Doris “Majell” Durham Hallford, 73, of Clarkesville will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Hillside Chapel with the Rev. Matt Thomas officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Saturday from noon-2 p.m.

Mrs. Hallford died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.

Born Sept. 10, 1939, in Homer, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Merle O’Neal Ayers Durham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hallford; son, Johnny Pruitt; and brothers, Clinton Durham and Jack Durham.

Mrs. Hallford was retired after 25 years of service as a telephone operator with Standard Telephone Company. In her spare time she also enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching.

Survivors include her brother, Max Durham of Clarkesville; sisters, Evelyn Mitchell of Royston and Joyce Barrett of Griffin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Celeste and Wesley Wilson of Thomasville and Willene and Willard Osborn of Homer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwight and Mary Lou Durham of Carrollton and J.D. and Lorie Durham of Mt. Airy; and sisters-in-law, Sally Durham of Baldwin and Jackie Durham Hodges of Clarkesville.
