Funeral services for Frances “Fran” Moore Tanner, 65, of Mt. Airy, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Jan. 30, at Glade Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Justus officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Tanner died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013.

Born July 13, 1947, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late John Ferry and Esther Tatham Moore.

She received her registered nurse’s degree from South Georgia College and was employed as a registered nurse for 22 years. Mrs. Tanner was a member of Glade Creek Baptist Church. She was a musician, having played both the piano and organ.

Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Gerald W. Tanner of Mt. Airy; daughter, Carrie Ann Tanner of Douglas; daughter and son-in-law, Sara Lane Martin and Brian Martin of Pooler; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Avery and Jerrie Tanner of Fitzgerald; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Perry and Travis Perry of Mt. Airy; brother, Lynn Moore of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
