Funeral services for Irene Sutton Land, 92, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Brian James and the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Land died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at her residence.

Born Dec. 20, 1920, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn and Susie Smith Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, W. Quinton Land, and her brothers, James, Edgar, Lawerence and Lester Sutton.

She and her husband, Quinton, were the retired owners of Sandy Springs Hardware and Supply with 30 years of service. Mrs. Land was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Tommy Parker of Cornelia; son, Thomas Wesley Land of Atlanta; sister, Louise Bryant of Clarkesville; granddaughter, Kelly Parker; grandson and his wife, Andy and Monica Parker; and great-grandsons, Clay, Carson and Cole Parker.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Feb. 13, and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Level Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 416, Cornelia, GA 30531.
