Mr. Wallace died Friday, March 22, 2013.
Born Jan. 28, 1918, in Conecuh County, Ala., he was the son of the late Willie Draper and Minnie Wilson Wallace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Alma Weekley Wallace; brothers, Julian Jay Wallace, William Draper Wallace Jr. and David Dempsey Wallace; and sisters, Bunny Wallace Dupuis and Minnie “Sue” Wallace Pressley.
Mr. Wallace was a veteran who proudly served in World War II. He was a retired conductor with L&N Railroad.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Jim Knight of McCalla, Ala.; sons and daughters-in-law, James Jr. and Joann Wallace of Marietta, John and Nancy Wallace of Clarkesville, Ric Sr. and Kay Wallace of Saratoga, Wyo., and Steven and Kelli Wallace of
Lawrenceville; brother, Billy Robert Wallace of Montgomery, Ala.; 14 grandchildren and their spouses, Denise Rolfe, James Wallace III, John Wallace Jr., Bill and Hilda Wallace, Sallie and Ed Lawrence, Daphne Wallace, Amy Knight, Ric Jr. and Melinda Wallace, Mandy and Johnathan Wallin, Jay and Lane Wallace, Robert Wallace, Perry and Christopher Poole, Quentin Wallace and Aidan Wallace; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
