Funeral services for Karen Ruppert Parson, 50, of Alto, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor John Graham officiating. Burial followed in Baldwin City Cemetery.

Mrs. Parson died Friday, May 3, 2013.

Born May 9, 1962, in Queens, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Arthur John and Frances Veronica Chippendale Ruppert. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Dasha Parson.

Mrs. Parson was avidly involved in the organization for the last seven years with the Board for the Chattahoochee Mountain Fair and was of the Holiness faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Steve Parson, son, Cody Parson, daughter, Amy Parson, all of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Cory Williams of Cornelia; sister, Patty Bodine of New York; brothers, Arthur Ruppert of New York, Dennis Ruppert of Florida; grandchildren, Riley Williams, Bray Williams, Jesse Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.
