A private family service is planned for Winifred Wade Garrett of Appling, formerly of Clarkesville.

Mrs. Garrett died June 17, 2013, in Appling.

She is survived by one brother, A. D. Wade (Josephine) of Alto; one daughter, Wanda Duzenski (Ted) of Evans; two sons, William (Bill) C. Arnold III (Cathy) of Augusta, and Dwayne A. Arnold Sr. of Grovetown; three grandchildren, Dwayne A. Arnold Jr. (Kelly) of Augusta, Kerry Goodwin (John) of Evans, and Melissa Faigler (Mike) of Grovetown; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Martin (Jewel) and Louise Dorsey (Wiley), and also two brothers, Truman Wade (Juanita) and Laverne Wade (Mary).

She was also survived by a neighbor (Matt Buyatt), who was instrumental in helping Mrs. Garrett when she became ill. Mrs. Garrett loved traveling, gardening, being around people and taking care of homeless cats.

Memorials may be made to the John B. Gesbocker Animal Shelter of Habersham County.
