Memorial services for Eva Mary Thomaston Justus, 83, of Clarkesville, were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Black officiating.

Mrs. Justus died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness.

Born Dec. 26, 1929, in Lancashire, England, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mabel Wood Thomason. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Justus was preceded in death by son Mark Justus.

She married Roy G. Justus in 1950, while he was serving in the United States Air Force in England. Eva and Roy raised four children together. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. She enjoyed arts and crafts, writing poetry, cooking, and caring for her home, her family and her beloved dogs.

She is survived by her husband, Roy G. Justus of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Janice Justus of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Justus and Woody Parr of Cornelia, and Lisa and Bill Poorman of Huntsville, Ala.; grandchildren, Chanda Defoor and husband Mick Harkins of Mt. Airy, Joshua Defoor and wife Stephanie of Demorest, Luke Hulsey, Nicholas Hulsey, Kristopher Poorman and Kevin Poorman, all of Huntsville, Ala.; and four great-grandchildren, Luke, Emily, Noah and Braxton.
