Funeral services for Sara Evelyn Loudermilk Sexton, 89, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, Aug. 23, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Luther Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Sexton died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.

Born Dec. 27, 1923, in Habersham County, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Thomas Willie Collins Loudermilk. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley “Bob” Sexton, whom she married on May 1, 1944; sons, Bobby and Danny Sexton; brother and sister-in-law, Hollis and Ruth Loudermilk; and great-granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Howard.

Mrs. Sexton was a homemaker and member of Cornelia Christian Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Donald Howard of Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Terrie and Susan Sexton of Woodbridge, Va., and Doug and Peggy Sexton of Mt. Airy; niece and husband, Sharon and Ray Stratton of Clarkesville; 11 grandchildren; -15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
