Funeral services for Lester Brock, 81, of Alto, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Keith Allison officiating. Burial followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Brock died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013.

Born March 3, 1932, in Floyd County, he was the son of the late Dewey Joseph and Ruth Manchester Brock. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Ross Andrew Brock and Stephen Carey Brock, and granddaughter, Rachel Briannah Brock.

Mr. Brock attended Fairfield Baptist Church; he was a Mason, member of the Kennesaw Lodge No. 33 F&AM; and former Scout Master of Cub Scout Troup No. 721 in Marietta. Mr. Brock was a retired meat cutter with Quality Foods and was formerly employed with Publix, Kroger, Food Giant, Matthews Food Store and Food Warehouse.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Peggy B. Brock of Alto; daughter, Alicia Ann Brock Wells of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Deb Brock of Alto; brother, Alvin Brock of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Ashley Brock, Emily Brock, Eli Brock, Caleb Brock, Jessi Wells and Olivia Wells.
