Funeral services for Nora Jean Patrick, 68, of Cornelia, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with Sister Doris Manning and the Rev. Michael Patrick officiating. Burial followed in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Patrick died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the residence following a sudden illness.

Born May 28, 1945, in Fairburn, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Sadie Moore Smith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Morris C. Patrick Jr.; daughter, Nora Elaine Patrick Ward; and granddaughter, Lucinda L. Patrick Rogowski.

Mrs. Patrick was of the Apostolic faith. Her employment career included Fieldale Corp., Frito-Lay, McDonald’s and, most important, was assisting her husband with their evangelistic ministry. She was a devoted and loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Evangelist Morris C. Patrick Sr. of Cornelia; daughter, Marsha Marie Patrick of Cornelia; sisters, Joyce McElwaney of Fairburn, Ellie Higginbotham of Alto, and Becky Evans of Fairburn; brothers, William “Billy” Smith of Jasper, and Robert Smith of Dallas; seven grandchildren, Jessica Gilstrap, Jeanelle Crozier, Maricia LeAnn Patrick, Morris C. Patrick III, Joshua David Patrick, Nakisha Hill and Russell Robert Farris III; and 11 great-grandchildren.
