Mrs. Dockery went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at The Windsor Assisted Living Community, Palm Coast, Fla.
Born Feb. 13, 1921, in Homer, she was the daughter of the late Felton and Ora Hill Lewallen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Dockery, who died in April, 2003. Also preceding her in death were sisters, Lillian Yarber, Ruth James and Vivian Martin; and brother, Vernon Lewallen.
Mrs. Dockery was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church in Cornelia. She was retired from Carwood Manufacturing Co., where she was employed for 41 years as a seamstress. She also was a homemaker and loved quilting, gardening, bird watching and cooking.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Grover Dover of Gainesville, Sandra and Jim Bennett of Palm Coast, Fla.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmie and Amy Stowe of Palm Coast, Fla., Eddie and Mary Stowe of Palm Coast, Fla.; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Susie Dockery of Kennesaw, Benji and Latrecia Dockery of Powder Springs; sisters, Bunice Smith of Cornelia, Ramona Hill of Baldwin; brothers, Blakely Lewallen of Soperton, Robert Lewallen of Orlando, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
