Funeral services for Terry Lee Purcell, 64, of Gainesville, formerly of Habersham County, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Westminster PCA, 1397 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, with Pastor Tom May and Pastor Ray Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, with full military honors provided by the Georgia National Guard, Grant Reeves VFW Post No. 7720, Habersham County American Legion Post No. 84 and Rabun County DAV Chapter No. 15.

Mr. Purcell died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013.

Born July 8, 1949, in Stephens County, he was the son of Carolyn Whitfield Purcell of Mt. Airy and the late Curtis Lee Purcell.

Mr. Purcell was a 1967 graduate of South Habersham High School and a graduate of Bob Jones University. He was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Germany, and was a former Public Works director for Habersham County government. He was a member of Grace Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Smith Purcell; daughters, Abigail Ellena Purcell of Baldwin and Hannah Carolyn Ruth Purcell of Baldwin; son, Caleb Curtis Purcell of Baldwin; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Purcell of Mt. Airy; six nieces and three nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Oct. 25, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, and from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Westminster PCA in Gainesville.
