Bobby Kenneth “BK” Davis, 81, of Lakemont, lost his long fight with COPD, macular degeneration and pneumonia on Nov. 4, 2013, with his wife of 61 years, Wilma Smith, by his side at Habersham Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Lakemont Baptist Church, where he and his wife were married Dec. 14, 1952, by the Rev. Billy Burrell. The Rev. Billy Burrell, the Rev. John Gipson and the Rev. Jewel Gaines officiated the funeral service. Burial followed in Rabun Memory Park, Tiger, with the Rev. Larry Brown conducting the graveside service.

Born Nov. 23, 1931, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Carson Alexander Davis and Ollie Angeline Shirley Davis. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Stanley Davis.

BK was a graduate of Tallulah Falls High School and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He attended Smith Hughes Technical School in Atlanta for two years. His career was with Georgia Power Co. for 35 years in the Atlanta Division as a foreman. During his retirement years, he enjoyed his cattle and working in the hay field, and moving back to the North Georgia Mountains.

He is survived by his wife; two sisters, Carol and Robert Smith of Hartwell and Mildred Barnes of McDonough; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
