Funeral services for Emma F. Sliger, 82, of Demorest, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Bethel Temple Holiness Church, Demorest, with the Rev. Jonathon Fitzpatrick officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Temple Cemetery.

Mrs. Sliger died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at her residence.

Born June 14, 1929, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Cindy Gabrels Norris. She was the widow of George Sliger. She also was preceded in death by her brothers, Lewis (Bud) Norris and Jack Norris; and sisters, Lucy Lumpkin and Louise Norris.

She was a nurse (LPN) and worked in various hospitals along with being a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Temple Holiness Church, Demorest.

“Miss” Emma is survived by two sons, Barry Nation (Dewielene) of Demorest and Tony Nation Sr. of Cornelia; one daughter, Becky Nation and her husband, Jackie Thompson, of Demorest; two sisters, Ellen Elrod of Demorest and June Howard of Toccoa; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653, Clayton, GA 30525 to aid with funeral expenses.
