A Celebration of Life service for Henry Luther Stonecypher, 85, of Clarkesville, is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Hills Crossing Baptist Church Activities Center with the Rev. Walter Singleton officiating.

Mr. Stonecypher died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014.

Born Jan. 20, 1928, in Clarkesville, he was the son of the late George and Lila Mae Funk Stonecypher. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Ottis Stonecypher.

Mr. Stonecypher was a member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church and was a United States Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II. He was a retired machine engineer with Coats & Clark Inc., with 11 years of service, and was a former owner of The Tastee Freez in Toccoa. Mr. Stonecypher was a member of Toccoa Masonic Lodge No. 309 F&AM, of Yaarb Temple York Rite Bodies, Toccoa Eastern Star CES No. 294 and was an honorary member of several area Masonic lodges.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Adron Taylor Stonecypher of Clarkesville; daughter, Edna Stonecypher of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dennis DuVan of Mesa, Ariz.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Byard Roper of Clarkesville, Dorothy and Walter Holbrook; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family requests flowers to be omitted and donations be made to Hills Crossing Baptist Church, 3569 Toccoa Hwy., Clarkesville, GA 30523.
