Funeral services for Ethel Davis Meaders, 76, of Cornelia, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Jan. 10, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Purcell and the Rev. Gerald Adamson officiating. Burial will follow in Friendly Mission Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Meaders died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014.

Born Feb. 23, 1937, in Macon County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred Davis and Lillie Pendergrass Davis. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Juanita McElrath, Eloise Davis, Blanch Pendergrass and Lucy White; and brothers, Colen, Clint and Belve Davis.

Mrs. Meaders was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress with Baldwin Garment Company with 20 years of service.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Zoe A. and David Stillwell of Hayesville, N.C., Glenda and Eliseo Brito of Mt. Airy; and daughter, Diane Jackson of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jan Ewing of Gainesville; son, Tommy Cash of Mt. Airy; stepson Robert Calvin Meaders of California; sister, Kay Roark of Thomasville, N.C.; brother, Carl Davis of High Point, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
