Mrs. Brookshire died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, following a period of declining health.
Born March 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Collie and Zona Lowry Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Mangum; son, Dale Brookshire; seven brothers and one sister. Mrs. Brookshire was the last member of her immediate family.
Operating as Bea’s Beauty Salon in Sugar Hill, Mrs. Brookshire was a beautician and a cosmetologist. Mrs. Brookshire also worked at Belk in Cornelia and was a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” Brookshire of Clarkesville; daughter, Dereita McGuire of Sugar Hill; sons, John C. Mangum and wife Betty of Hochston, Stanley Brookshire and wife Pamela of Cornelia, Brian Brookshire and wife Faye of Clarkesville, Brent Brookshire and wife Cheri of Clarkesville; sister-in-law, Marion Roberts of Sugar Hill; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren
