A graveside service for Betty Weatherford Braswell, 86, was held Saturday, Feb. 1, at Collins First Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins, with the Rev. Dr. Mary Leonard officiating.

Mrs. Braswell died Jan. 24, 2014, in Sautee-Nacoochee at the residence of her daughter, Rebecca Braswell Botts, following an extended illness.

Born Dec. 17, 1927, in Graymont, she was the daughter of the late Sumter Wesley Weatherford and Nancy Chance Weatherford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nine older siblings and her husband, George Eugene Braswell.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathryn Braswell Hochman (Steven) of Atlanta, Rebecca Braswell Botts (Kenneth), and grandchildren, Hannah Kathryn Botts, Rachel Elizabeth Botts, and Joseph Robert Braswell Hochman.

Arrangements by Hillside Memorial Chapel, Clarkesville.
